| > About Canon genuine paper and Canon feed confirmed paper | Canon genuine paper and Canon feed confirmed paper are included in the types of paper described in the Paper Reference Guide.
The paper types with "†" marked in the product name column are those specified as Canon genuine paper.
The paper types with "†" not marked in the product name column are those specified as Canon feed confirmed paper. Canon feed confirmed paper is paper for which Canon performed a standardized evaluation and confirmed paper feeding on iPF650/iPF655. However, Canon does not guarantee that product and quality. About the paper except the Canon genuine paper, please contact the respective paper manufacturer after reading the instruction manuals supplied with the paper.

| > Handling the Paper | - Handle all paper carefully and avoid moist environment and contact with water. If the paper will be used in a humid environment, perform lamination or other appropriate treatments after printing.
- Handle all paper carefully, being careful not to rub or damage it. We recommend wearing gloves when handling paper.
- Handle paper so as to keep the print surface free of sweat and grease from hands. This may affect the printing quality.
- After printing, allow ink to dry before handling. We recommend keeping printed documents separate, not stacked, until they are dry.
- Paper may stretch or shrink from changes in humidity or other environmental factors. Allow ample time for the paper to adjust to the environment before use.
- After use, remove paper from the printer if environmental changes are expected and store it in the bag.

| > About the use of roll paper for which the rear edge of the paper does not separate from the paper core | When printing on roll paper that is not Canon genuine paper or Canon feed confirmed paper, the rear edge of the paper may not separate from the paper core if you use the roll paper until the rear edge, resulting in a paper feed failure.
We recommend that you confirm the specifications with the paper maker before purchasing paper.

| > Loading Rolls | Unaligned roll edges, stains and tape marks may lead to faulty paper feeding.
If the roll edge is curled, straighten the curled edge before loading the roll.

| > Ejecting Roll Paper | Depending on the condition of paper after ejection, ejected sheets may impede ejection of the next sheet or damage other sheets. Remove each sheet after ejection.
|

| > If Paper Cannot be Selected | If the type of paper loaded cannot be selected on the control panel or in the printer driver, try specifying it as Special 1, Special 2, and so on. Note that higher numbers in this setting enable more vivid colors but may also cause colors to run together.

| > Cutting Options for Rolls That Take Time for Ink to Dry (Eject Cut) | Ink takes longer to dry on paper for which Auto Cutting is labeled "Eject cut" in the Roll Specification section. If you use automatic cutting after printing and the document drops, ink may rub off the printed surface. Support the document after printing as you wait for the printer to cut it.

| > Operating Environment | If used in other than the recommended environment, your printer may develop the following problems. Be sure to conduct printing in the recommended operating environment.
<Low Humidity Environment>
- Paper becomes curled or wrinkled.
- Paper and the printhead are more likely to touch each other, resulting in a scratched print surface or damaged printhead.
- The cut printed matter sticks to the printer and will not fall down (film media).
- Paper sticks to the printer, making its transfer impossible and preventing its normal ejection (film media).
- Uneven printing (film media)
<High Humidity Environment>
- Printed matter will not dry.
- Wavy paper surface
- Cut edges are ragged (fabric media).
- Margins remain due to borderless printing.
Print under a humidity of 60% or lower.

Semi-Glossy Photo Paper is glossy white paper less reflective than regular glossy photo paper. The soft finish of this paper is subdued, for minimal glare. Its low reflectivity makes it a good choice for display panels and presentation graphics at exhibitions, or for point-of-purchase displays.

- If print quality is your priority, turn off the auto cutting function and stop the printer after printing. We recommend supporting the document with your hands to prevent it from dropping before you press the Cut button and cut the paper.
- Synthetic Paper
Use the Media Type setting on the Control Panel or in the printer driver to select Synthetic Paper in Film/CAD Paper.
- Adhesive Synthetic Paper
Use the Media Type setting on the Control Panel or in the printer driver to select Adhesive Synthetic Paper in Film/CAD Paper.
If the leading edge of Adhesive Synthetic Paper curls upward, the adhesive may stick to the printhead and damage it. In this case, take measures to straighten the paper, such as by cutting the leading edge.

- Avoid using Backlit Film where the print surface becomes wet. If the media will be used in a humid environment, perform lamination or other appropriate treatments after printing.

Remove each sheet upon ejection into the output tray. Do not touch the print surface or stack sheets before ink dries.
If the ink does not dry easily, set Roll DryingTime to about a minute.
If large amounts of ink are absorbed, the paper may curl. If the printed surface touches the paper delivery slot, resulting in paper damage or soiling, set the Scan Wait Time in the Control Panel menu. (This will slow down printing since the printer waits for the ink to dry while printing.)
